LUMO
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lumo mobile application (the “App”) and the website learnwithlumo.app (the “Site”), operated by the Lumo team (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Lumo is a story-driven educational game for learning Croatian and Serbian. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial learning.
2. Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to create an account.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
The App may offer optional paid content or auto-renewing subscriptions. All payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. Except where required by law, purchases are subject to Apple's refund policies — refund requests are made through Apple, not through us.
4. Intellectual property
The App and Site — including the story, characters (yes, including Lumo the goat), artwork, audio recordings, text, and software — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, distribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the App except as permitted by law.
5. Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems.
- Don't use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Don't extract, scrape, or resell App content, including audio and story materials.
6. User feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback, you grant us the right to use them to improve the App without obligation or compensation — though we'll be genuinely grateful, and the good ideas usually ship.
7. Educational disclaimer
Lumo is designed to help you learn effectively, but language-learning results vary by individual. We make no guarantee of specific proficiency outcomes, exam results, or CEFR certification. (We do promise the journey will be more fun than a textbook.)
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The App and Site are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 4, 8, and 9) will survive.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
